Join us on a kayaking trip in the fantastic surroundings, North of Bergen. Guests on this trip will arrive at our base on Herdla and be suited up and given a safety briefing before taking to the water for a 3-hour guided tour around the protected inland islands and reefs of Herdlefjorden and Hjeltefjorden. We will pass bird reserve areas and protected Cultural Heritage ruins of the Second World War. Our experienced guides weave historical and cultural highlights into the trip, creating an experience not soon forgotten. During our break for lunch, guests may get possibly to explore some of the old ruins.
Look for a guide or our minibus between Tourist Information and the Express Boat Terminal in Bergen city center (Strandkaien 3). Busses run on a set schedule and depart promptly at 09:30 am or 2:00 pm (2 pm departure only between 16 July -31 Aug) , so please arrive at least 10 minutes before departure (09:20 am/ 1:50 pm).
Starts with a short orientation and safety briefing before we take to the water. We will paddle together in a group and you will be given interesting historical and cultural details about Herdla as well as receive paddling pointers and tips. We will make landfall somewhere during the trip to have lunch and enjoy a locally-made beverage. You may get the opportunity to explore some of the old WWII ruins before continuing our trip. Total activity length will be around 3 hours. Exact trip route will be determined on the day and is largely determined by: the weather, group size and group experience.
